I have been eating at this place since a kid, always good and fresh
I’ve been going here over 20 years and it’s still the best. Pick up and go. Don’t be afraid. Just be careful like anywhere else new you’d go in a big city. Gd service and the BEST food. Cash only!
I BEEN GETTING THE SAME THING SINCE I WAS A KID. I GET HALF BOURBON CHICKEN & HALF HONEY CHICKEN WITH BOURBON SAUCE ON MY RICE. IT STILL TASTES THE SAME AS I REMEMBER IT EVERY TIME. THEY STUFF UR PLATE SO U CAN EAT OFF OF IT TWICE. CASH ONLY.
Remember cash only, I’m always a forever customer! My lunch was a hit rice as usual always on point and I get Spicy, honey chicken and bourbon chicken
I've been eating here for years and it's always good.
I found the full service and sanitation staff should be very informative and 90 acute to the job at hand. I will visit again.
Wayne’s BBQ and Cajun is an absolute gem for anyone craving mouth-watering barbecue and authentic Cajun cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a fantastic dining experience. The barbecue is out of this world—tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The ribs fall off the bone, and the pulled pork is perfectly seasoned. The Cajun dishes are equally impressive, with jambalaya and gumbo that transport your taste buds straight to Louisiana. Each bite is a delicious blend of spices and fresh ingredients. The service at Wayne’s is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They make you feel like part of the family, ensuring that every visit is enjoyable.
So yes there is a lot of panhandling that happens here however this is also smack dab in the middle of one of the poorest neighborhoods in the entire city so... I don't know why someone would leave a one star negative review when it's obvious where in the city this is... come on... chill out. If you can't take it being asked for change, go somewhere else. Regardless of the panhandling, I consider this place one of Chicago's Best unknown culinary treasures. It's essentially a fusion of Cajun and Chinese Food. Its great! They use only leg meat for the chicken which is extra tasty!! I get the blackened chicken paired with the spicy cajun fried rice. Its the BEST. I will say of the panhandlers that do frequently hang around there, if you talk to them with respect they'll talk to you with respect even if you don't have anything for them.
